hey guys i'm looking for a high output alternator for my 22re. i already have two red top optimas and two 1 farad capacitors to run my two 2100 watt fosgat amps but i need more. i've found a 160 amp that i can just plug in but thats the highest so far. i would switch to a gm but i don't know what all needs to be done to accomplish this. i want a 220 amp alternator if i can get away with it. i have checked some shops that rebuild alternators and they will only rebuild it to the stock specs or they woun't rebuild it at all. they say the parts are too hard too get for them. do any of you guys have pics of how you switched to a gm alternator or where i can find a higher outpuut one for mine? thanks guys for any help.

i have a 220 amp alternator on my truck. it came off my old chevy s10 2.5 from mr alternator. i found wiring instructions on some 4x4 site. and had to modify a universal chevy bracket and the actual alternator a little to fit.

im pretty sure the one on my truck came out of a 4runner and the guy that had it before me was running a 12 spkr setup with a 15" sub.
