A drive shaft shop will remove some material from inside of the u joint mounting ears to make room for the bearing cap retainer clip to slide on. You can do it yourself if you have access to a mill(best option) or a 4 1/2 inch angle grinder(gets it done but you gotta be careful) I've done this to a few of the Mazdas I've owned over the years and it always worked for me. You can press the bearing caps in with either a press or a larger vise with a couple of sockets to push the caps with. Make sure that you don't mix the caps up when you remove them from your new joint for the instalation process. Also make sure that you don't dump needle bearings everywhere when you take the caps off 'cause it sucks. Trust me on that, lol
