I'm putting a sbc in my 88 b2200. I was wondering how well the rear gears worked with the V8's? thanks

The rear gears work fine. However, you need to make sure you get a 700r4 tranney or better. The gear ratio for the factory rear end is some where around 410. I had a Turbo 350 tranny and found that I could only go about 55mph. Once I changed over the the 700r4 I could easily cruise at 70-80. The overdrive and lock-up are essential for the rear end you are stuck with. The other thing you can do is change out rear ends. I am currently gathering parts and my mazda is going under the knife again. I am pulling the carbed 350 and putting in an Lt1 with 300zx IRS. That along with new paint and some new mods. I hope to rolling by Nopi this year. Anyways, you can hit me up anytime for other questions. L8
