how far down does a sfbd actually drop mazdas when using 2x3 box? And how far down are the mounts usually? I'm going to be using probably Energy Suspension Jeep mounts instead of stock since their cleaner looking.

How low does a body drop put on the truck? Hell I thought it lays the body on the ground.

I mean, does it go to pinch or rocker?

according to russ-d, on his mazda, it lays rocker. it yeilds a 2.25" b/d. you'll want to z the front an inch too, that will allow you to lay full rail.

yes, bryan speaks the truth. But a 1 inch z is a little over, what I did was build a jig under the old frame and welded the front clip SOLID to it. I used pins to locate all the body mounting points spaced the rails up so that the NEW rails would be level with the front crossmember, about a 1/2 inch. You have to do this, because likely right now you are measuring the stock frame rail and realize that it is just under 5 inches tall, so if you replace it with a 3 inch frame rail you will only get a 2 inch body drop, right? Well, this 1/2 inch "z" (doesnt feel like a z the way you are doing it but if you think about it, thats exactly what is happening) lets you put the new body mount at the bottom of the new frame rail and gets you enough to lay rocker. Mine lays pinch, but only because I havent rolled the rockers under yet, it will lay frame.

I wish there was a stock frame to go from, but that was bent and rusted when I got my truck. So I don't have much to go from except for a clean front clip. And theres no room for a full frame table jig to work on, I can only zero everything out as I go.

dont know if this will help or not but I have a full drawing of the frame made up on auto cad with the stock frame and the sfbd one with all the dimensions

I have some pictures in the beige Mazda Profile . That is a 2 1/2 inch Body Drop it lays full rockers has some pictures of the frame its a basic 2x3 Stock Floor on the front its just Energy Suspension bushings and on back the stock mazda ones . To get it to go the extra little bit i had build a slight bubble in floor to get clearance from frame rail and floor up front . I cut floor out wider then needed to make the bump in floor less noticable with the stock carpet .

Mine was exactly the same. It only laid pinch but could've laid rocker just fine. Check out the pics in the profile.
