I have a 1991 Hardbody that is bagged all around. The steering stabilizer bars are there and just the bracket under the core support are drug on, but not through, just half way through the rubber.. maybe a little further. Anyways, when i hit bumps or ANYTHING in the road, it feels like the front end is literally falling out from under the truck.

i bought the truck as it sits knowing i was redoing it, but its getting undriveable. I just got my machined spindles from John for the 5 lug, thinking the ghetto way was the problem.. still having this problem.

any ideas? the ONLY joint in the front that is bad is the lower balljoints.

it is a manual steering truck.. it likes to wonder and wobble also.

i had a work truck that done something like that and when i took it to the shop it needed uper and lower ball joints, and all the bushings in the front replaced.

bumpsteer?
how good are the shocks up front?
could also be balljoints and the bushings up front

maybe a bent stabilizer bar?

Sounds like balljoints.

What about when you go to slow down?

Check the strut arm bushings for wear. They don't like the excessive amounts of twisting that the endure when you bag the front and wear out at a higher rate than normal. A stock front end doesn't cycle through near the amount of travel that an adjustable one does which is why these bushings last longer in a stock truck. You can buy urethane replacements for your truck from Energy Suspension that will last longer, just make sure you keep them lubed up. When these bushings go bad it will cause the symptoms you desxribe because the lower control arm can move back and forth. This is espicially noticable under braking. Good luck, let us know what it turns out to be.

well ball joint are probally the reason but it worries me having your radius arms drug half way through. I had min removed and i have Street Issue Customs add a locator to the rear of my control arm work way better and i dont have to worry about draging it off
