well aluminum is not always better if you have a very heavy truck or a truck with a lot of horsepower, but since you've prolly only got 90hp and your truck prolly only weighs 3k lb, aluminum should do the trick. you can turn the front bars down so low it'll bottom out the front shocks. cut that bumpstop, its definitely in your way. in the rear, you will most likely need a 3" block and no i used a straight. pinion doesn't need to be pointin at the ground so dont use an angled. when i static dropped mine i turned the bars all the way down till it bottomed the shocks out, and then came back up a few turns, and yes i had to trim the inner fenders. in the rear i did a mono-leaf and a 3" block, and had to mini-notch the rear frame cause the axle was so high. the gas tank corssmember needed to be trimmed a bit so the driveshaft wouldn't rub.. i guess it all depends on how low you go on the static drop as to how much fender you need to cut or how high to notch the frame. i could damn near drag up reflectors. a brand new one i could scrape the top off of. so i was about 2" off the ground. and yes they'll go that low without spindles or anything. but you cant bring it up as you wish, like air, so you kinda gotta watch where you drive. if i were you, i'd pull out one of my leafs, the second one, do a 3" block, and turn the bars up or down to make the truck level. you'll have a decent ride, and prolly be close to tuckin tire on a 17. it'll look sharp. any lower than that and you're gonna ride like crap. the front shocks dont like to be dropped so low.
