Im looking for some pics of a hardbody thats been doored and not just some hack job, i searched but it didnt turn anything up. I am finally starting to get some interest back in mine after 3-4 yrs and while its still torn down and all why not door it. So if you have any pics, or a link to a thread let me know please.
And now for the tech, since i tore it down at a friends shop and was planning to change quite a few things i pulled out the wiring harness and when i finally got the truck out of the shop (9 months later) i had it in the harness and all was lost. I am digging through my haynes manual and the diagram isnt matching what i have or im just not seeing it. the typical wiring diagram shows 2 coils, and 8 plugs, im sure thats for a 4 cyl that used the double plugs per cyl, maybe but it isnt right.
Im trying to get power to the coil and to the distributer to get a spark, and pretty much bypass everything else. i know all a motor needs to run is compression, spark and fuel so i dont see why i cant get it to fire with just running power to the coil and getting it to the dizzy.
ok its the VG6cyl, the truck is an 88 but i tracked the motor to a 89 maxima but everything plugged and ran when it was parked. I spun the motor over and its still free, so i know it isnt froze and instead of the TBI injection i have a spacer plate with a holly 350 carb set up. so i know it will run once i get spark. if you konw of what how wires run where to the plug with what looks like a resistor then to the coil or even just a wiring diagram it would really help out.
Hopefully this isnt too jumbled and someone with the answers can figure it out. Thanks in advance.
