So I'm throwing 2 codes. Bank 1, and Bank 2 are running lean. It ran like crap and I replaced the EGR now it runs better but sometimes still doesn't wanna move like it should.

I'm going to replace the fuel filter tomorrow it has like 35k+ miles on it and probably got really dirty while it was sitting in the shop for a few months.

If that doesn't work what should I check next?

Which motor is in it? On the 4.6's they used to have a problem with a coolant hose leaking back at the firewall which would drip down on the #4 coil pack and it would short out the coil pack.

if its a 4.2 its prob intake gaskets.

also exactly what codes did it throw?(number wise)

does it have a plastic intake manifold?

I replaced the fuel filter, all the fuel that came out of it was like reddish, like rust. It all dried on the pavement and left a rust colored area. I'm sure the injectors are clogged like a mother fucker. The fuel cell was never lined, so I'm sure when it gets empty to do the marine gas cap in the bed floor tomorrow a layer of rust will come out with it.

I don't want to have to replace all the injectors if I don't have to though.

James - The codes were...

P0171 & P0174

Sometimes it seems like its choking and doesnt wanna go, sometimes it seems like its not getting fuel and doesn't wanna go. Someone also said it could be because the way my intake is set up the filter 90's facing straight down to avoid the tire and the MAF is RIGHT after the 90. I cleaned the MAF, my intake filter, and replaced the EGR (was fine for a little bit) and the fuel filter which was clogged with shit.

It was doing this and i replaced the EGR and it was fine now a few days later its worse than it was before.

ok strait off alldata.

breaks it down like this

-check air intake for leaks
-clean air filter,housing for blockage
-verify integrity of pcv system
-check for vacuum leaks

if all those check out...

-check mass air flow sensor voltage for barometric pressure...gota have the ids to check that, ford only thing

- to isolate maf from problem, disconnect MAF, key on engine running. drive it. if lack of power/spark knock/detonation/buck/jerk/andor hesitation/surge on accelarion are gone, replace the MAF.

if thats not it,

-disconnect fuel vapor hose from intake manifold and plug fitting at intake port.
-start motor and idle at 2k for 5 min and return to idle
-KOER self test
if no other codes from doing that pop up,
check fuel pressure. it should be 35-40. it should hold that psi for about 5 min after shut down. if thats not it, check for fuel injecotor leak down.

thats the jist of things, but should get you on teh right track. to me it sounds like u need a new MAF.

Disconnected MAF . Runs a LITTLE better still not 100% I think its a combination of a few things.
bodydropped85   +1y
its either maf, fuel pressure, or pcm.
