Windows Media Screen Turns Green????

So...i try to watch videos online and when they use windows media player to play the video clip, the screen turns green but the sound still plays. Anyone know how to fix this crap?

sounds like you need some new codecs. just do a search for media player codecs.

can you explain what codecs are?

they are basically patches/updates for media player. some videos are read differently by different players, and codecs act as patches that will allow you to watch them. That is the most likely cause if you are getting the audio but no video
