I was reading a post on here the other day about re-hooping some 22.5's onto a 22" steel hoop, but nobody could find a 22" steel hoop. What about cutting a steel rim down and re-hooping it with a 20" steel hoop from a Dodge spare. They made 20" steelies for their spares. Just an idea, don't know how well it would work.

Good idear...wonder if they are the same thickness as a regular wheel.

I'd run 20's.

Someone make me a set.

Tires would be cheaper for 20's

The Dodge 20" steelies I've seen look like a normal thickness, like a chevy rally wheel. The only problem that I can tell you might run into just by looking at pics of steel semi's is the location of the holes. I don't know how much diameter you could take off before you got into the holes.

Are they 8 bolt or 10?

Could they just be filled and redrilled?

They are 5 or 6 lug, it's the half ton dodge bolt pattern. If I was going to do it I'd want the 10 lug pattern.

Oh yeah...gotta go ten lug to keep the semi look. someone break out a grinder and their stick welder...

you've been visiting haven't you
there's one making a rat rod out of a 2,5 ton truck i believe it was

only the spare wheels are made of steel from wat i read .

hey if you need to cut the holes it only ads to the special look maybe you need to get beyond the holes and make it solid (chrome it and it looks like a big bucks wheel )

Yea only the spares are steel. You can pick a set of 4 up around here for around $100. I've got a buddy with a CNC plasma, hell Kyle at GBD has a CNC laser. They should be able to cut it down precisely. I may venture off into this endeavor.
