Why would my amp do this?

definitely a ground loop. recheck all your grounds, and ground to the cab, or directly back to the battery if close enough.

thanks guys I ended up finding out that the wires for my dakota digital gauges got ran right next to my rca's so after some moving and moving some grounds everything worked out fine. Thanks again for all of the help
