hey guys mini trucker newbie here got a bolt on four link for my 92 dakota my question is does you rearend have to be perfectly centered or can it be like 1/2 inch off to one side? i bolted every thing up and the rearend is not perfectly centered between the frame rails its like a 1/2 inch off. my guess is that it does have to be centered but figured i throw this out to the more experienced before i start tearing it down.thanks

Does your setup have a panhard bar?

the frame rails might not be exactally the same on each side

measure off the backside of the drum to the outside of the frame and if there the same then it will work. If not you will have to modify them or have them modified.

no panhard bar. and i also measured from the outside of the frame to the in side of the drum and its a good 1/2 inch difference.

What keeps the rearend centered? pannard, watts-link, wishbone...

wishbone

stock frames are not always the same on each side, make sure your frame is symetrical with respect to the center before you do anything.

i think i got it i didn't relize how much flex the frame rails have. i can lean on it and move it alomost a 1/2 an inch. i got the rearend to center but now with lower links but now i'm having a lil difficulty with the upper wishbone lining up with the crossmemeber i'll see what i can do.
