i just saw an almost perfect 89-95 2wd shortbed in a junkyard today. just looks like the bumper hit the driver rollpan corner a bit. rest looks good. silver. good gate. good inside. no holes all over the rails. they want $350-550 depending on who i talk to. but i always haggle those guys down.

my bed has alot of damage to the driver side, and some dings on the pass side, both roll pan spots are messed, lots of holes in the top rails, caved wheel wells, and a bent up front wall. its crappy. truck is black.

now, i do autobody...and could fix my bed. check out my profile pics of it. should i snag the new bed, or fix mine?

for the record, im planning on rollpanning it, shaving the gate, shaving the rock gaurds, possibly flipping the gas door inside, roll in bedline with shaved floor ribs (fencing slats under the liner) and an in bed trunk. (basically a big square door that flips up to hold the spare where the stock one is, but from the top. and so i can hold my jack, spare parts and a few tools. all without having to hear the shit slid behind my seat. just gotta make a crossmember infront of and behind the area to replace the stock one in the way.)

thanks people.

4 bills and it saves u a week worth of work and headache. I say do it, but then again, it is something to learn with if you are taking classes. I don't have the patients to do body works.

if you work in a shop and can do it yourself, you shouldnt even need to ask us if you should do it...fix it..and save the money.
