my wife has a 96 dodge ram with a 318 all of a sudden sometimes it doesn't want to start and other times it will fire just fine it has a newer fuel pump in it so i don't think thats it, any ideas what could be causeing this???

does it do it more after it has been running? i have a 98 ram with a 328 and it will do it OCCASIONALLY after it has been running and i shut it off and try to refire it pretty quick. usually i can just let it sit for a second and it will start fine. i think its all in the efi

nope she said it happens both ways right after shes driven it and if its been sitting for hours

maybe a loose ground...does it have power at all when it won't start?

yea it still has power, today it actual stalled while driving and wouldn't start so i left it in a random parking lot went back a hour later and it started right up and i drove it home what gives i have no clue whats going on.

UMM.......I know i may sound like a dummy but did you check the battery terminals>? sometimes when the terminals get gunked up your truck will do that ive had a dodge w/ a 360 and one with a v-10 and both have had trouble w/ the battery terminals getting gunked up.
