been having trouble lining everything up with my bolt on 4 link for my dakota the conclusion i have come to is that the top link bar that is angled is to long and the bushing was welded on to much of an angle should i try to cut and reweld it or am i doing something wrong here, i measured the rear end and ti seems to be centered and equal on both sides heres a pic

Who made the link kit? Perhaps they woould be able to help you out. It looks like you could get away with cutting and re welding it. On the plus side at least its too long.

if something is wrong, hopefully the people who made the kit will fix it so you dont have to do any work.....

the reason why people buy bolt on kits is so they dont have to weld and they know that everthing sould be right! they why u pay some much more money, or thats what i allways thought! so i would call them up and they should send u a new kit.

is the crossmember that it is mounted to square? its possible that might be out?
minitrucker04   +1y
u can tell the crossmember is square because one of the link ends line up! if it was out of square then the only one that lines up wouldnt. it seem to me that had to much heat to the inside and it pull it out of square or the end like was not lined up like it should have been befor it was welded

thats what i was thinking jim the kit is a chasis tech kit (yea i know) and i got it a while ago don't want to deal with sending it back but before i cut and reweld just wanted to make sure everyone agreed that the link bar was wrong not the instalation or something i might of over looked

yeah got to love aim! yeah just cut the end off of the bar, then put it back in the tabs and bolt it back in. then put the link bar back up to it and tack it on. then take it out and take all the poly bushing out and weld it up! thats the way i would do it!

hah thats whats wrong with it, chassis tech! i dont think they have jigs of anything, they just have a pile of precut pieces, and use their best instinct to assemble them
