So I am building a box with mdf sides and fiberglass front and back. How thick should I lay the the glass. Or how can i make it as dense as the 3/4 mdf I'm using? Thanks

use thick absorbant fabric and soak it in resin

sweatpant material is great

ive seen people use denim, towels, sweatpants, tweed, basically any fabric

i would suggest using chicken wire to map out the designs.. if its not gonna be flat and then lay down strips of fabric over it and brushing resin on the top and letting it dry and brush both sides.. im not a pro at fiberglass but ive done it once or twice and its still holding up to this day

You need like five or six layers of fiberglass mat. You want it 1/4 thick at least perferably thicker.

I was in home depot today and I saw fiberglass resin and body filler and I decided I want to start practicing so I can do my own interior and stereo set up.

But I didnt see and mat or anything where can I pick that up.

Shit was cheap.

theres a guy in phoenix, his company is called "sticky stuff". He sells resin, mat, hardner, all kinds of glues too. You can get mat from home depot though, you probly are just blind ha ha
On another note....dont use just thick material to make your box, its ok to use to get the shape you want but has not structural value at all.

you should get it from a boat supply/repair place. Resin has a shelf life and most stuff on the shelfs at wal mart, autozont, home depot, all are expired and cure all jacked up.

When doing a box that fits the back of the cab you can mask off everythign and essentially pull a mold off the wall to optimize air space. just google fiberglass tutorial.
