1981 K5 Blazer - frame converted to 2wd, lowered 6".
Fresh rebuilt 350 w/ less than 200 miles, tube exhaust manifolds w/ dual exhaust, edlebrock performer intake, late-model serpentine belt drive, 700R4 auto w/ OD, 12-bolt rear w/ 3.08 gear, conversion captain's chairs, cooler in console(holds 12-pack bottles and full bag of ice, drains outside) custom stereo w/ CD, tinted windows, cowl hood, bug shield and ventvisors, aluminum wheels/tires approx 1/2 tread(235/60/15).
ICE COLD A/C! Good gas mileage(not a honda, but great cruiser/daily)
approx 65k since FULL rebuild - a couple rough spots in body - looks good, drives good
Asking $2800, MUST SELL - any reasonable offers?
I've had it for 8 years. Started out 4wd, 8" suspension/3" body w/ 44's, went to suspension only with 38's, then down to 2wd daily driver, then slammed on down.
- anyhow, to make it 2wd, the frame was cut off in the center of the front body mount. We then did the same to a C10 pickup, rolled the stub in place and put the bolts in for the body mounts. By bolting it together with the body mount it squared the frame for us. Then we but welded the frames together, then added a fishplate to strengthen it, then boxed the frame for about 18" through the area. The sectioned part is actually atleast twice as strong as the factory framerail, but i wanted to make sure there would never be any issues.
- The 2wd's are rare, but 1981 is actually a factory year for C5 blazers.
It pulls the 24' enclosed trailer with the racecar in it, no problems. Anyone interested? I need some $ and I don't need this truck. I've owned it long enough, I'm just burnt out on it.
