They're exactly that, friction shocks. They rub together to slow the suspension down. I've wanted to use them for a while just haven't gotten the chance.

I WAS CONSIDERING USING THEM BUT DONT KNOW MUCH ABOUT THEM...SPEEDWAY HAS THEM FOR A REASONABLE PRICE...I FIGURE IF THEY CAN SUPPORT A T-BUCKET THEY SHOULD SUPPORT THE REAR OF MY ISUZU OK

hey jeff, i ran them on my red austin bantam truck in my profile. they have a what looks like a stone grinding disk in them or leather and they cause friction against the metal. they work and you can tighten the bolt more, for more resitance. they are not going to ride great but they do work just fine. check out my profile and it is easy to see them on the front of my truck .

I tried them on my old ranger and didnt really care for them. I think with the air bags the spring rate is kinda out of wack and they have a hard time keeping up. I have seen a hydraulic shock that is lever operated and looks alot like a friction shock. Dont quote me but i think they were factory on either late 30's or early to mid 40's chevy passenger cars
