im trying to put my upper control arms back on and my ball joint keeps turning when i try to tighten up the nut is there some trick to this or does this mean i need to replace the balljoint?

there should be an allen head on the bottom of the stud so you can keep it from not moving?

take a c clamp or some llrs and clamp the balljoint down on the spindle.....

jack the suspention up all the way up and you will be cool

I put pressure on the ball joint so it has some friction and use a impact if you can. I have a snapon impact swivel that works great. Similar to this one, (mine is pretty old but still works great)

thanks for the help guys ended up just using a floor jack and a hammer and finally got it to stop turning
