I have an '88 Fullsize SWB with a carb 350. The previous owner installed Cyberdyne digital gauges in the truck from JCWhitney. The speedo has never worked. I am trying to get it to work. I bought the sender it says to use but that's for a cable driven tranny. I finally figured out that the tranny is 700r4 with a elec. speed sensor plug and not the cable driven as I was told it did. What can I do to get this to work. I know I need some type of sender. The one they sent me has the 3 wires. 1 for power; 1 for ground; and 1 for signal. Do I have to change the tailshaft back to a cable driven? There is no computer or anything so I know that's out of the question. I'd like to keep the guages for now instead of having to start all over again with buying new gauges and ending up back to square 1 with no speedo. I need help badly. Thanx!!!

i know you said you had a sender allready but there are several different senders available for those gauges. look here:

i have the 8901 sender and that's the cable driven one. I need one that would be for an elec. one already there.

do you have the stock sending unit?

as far as I know I would have to have the origianl ecm for the truck. it's no longer computerized it's carbureted. the only thing I have is the actual tailshaft piece that has the male side of the speed sensor.

if you have the stock speed sensor, and the stock pigtail you should be able to wire it up to your gauges.......

you might need to purchase a calibration box though....
