Ok I'm wondering whats it gonna take to get my '83 F-250 to lay on some 24s. For now I just want to lay frame(I'll eventually cut it up for a BD or I may go SFBD).

The rear I'm figuring a 4-link with RE8s because I have dual gas tanks and I'll be towing a small boat(less than 25ft in length). I have no idea what to do upfront. It was originally sitting on 53" tires and I've since sold most of the 4wd stuff and I want to lay it out now.

Also, should I run RE7s or RE8s up front with the 460BBF that is in it? I've had a few people tell me to go with a Mustang II front end but I'm wondering if any of ya'll have a better idea.

70+ views and no one has any answers on how to bag a 80-96 F250? The suspension is the same as far as I can tell from the F150 and F250 as long as its 2wd(just one is 5-lug vs 8lug).

I currently don't have any front or rear suspension at all and I'm working with basically a bare frame.

Someone has to know something.

i'm about to do my 86 f150 with drop beams, but i think "heidts" front ifs suspension with your own bag mounts could be the best option. we did a 53 Packard Carribean with the heidts ifs and it rode like a dream. i believe that "fat daddy's" would be cheaper though. i'll find a link here in a second. http://daytonasp.com/ven/heidts/files/heidts.shtml

Their front suspension are nice but I would rather not have to modify a $2500 front suspension.

The drop beams aren't an option for me because I don't really want to build beam mounts and the fact that it won't lay out.

I've only bagged rangers, but i'm trying to learn how to bag the larger f150's and f250's up front. but your starting with a bare frame because it was a 4x4, so a whole new front clip might actually be cheaper. is the frame from the f250 somewhat similiar to the f150?

you could probably pick up a front clip off of a chevy dually and stub the front end. theres tons of those laid out so im sure it isnt that hard

I'm starting with a 2wd frame, not a 4wd.

As far as I can tell with the 2wds the only difference is that one accepts big blocks from the factory and one doesn't. I don't know the older F150 frames all that well.

If it was me, I would try and get a whole new frame. Like a chevy 2500 frame and put the cab on the frame. Then you would have the popular lug pattern, and an abundant supply of aftermarket parts. I bought a rolling chassis for $500 bucks for my Dodge. That was with everything included. Axle, front suspension, R&P, etc. I think that would be your cheapest, and easiest route. Then rework the cab mounts and motor mounts and your set.

I don't really want to use a chevy frame on my ford. If I have to it'll be a last resort. How much of a PITA would it be to use 88-98 a-arms, spindles, brakes, etc and a rear end and put them on my frame?

it'd be easy if you wanna fab up mounts..
