I was talking to a buddy who is a welding and fab guy about drop control arms for my dakota. The idea came up about why not just modify the stock arms? basiclly just make a deeper spring pocket. Has anyone ever tryed this? I know it would have to be reinforced and damn strong....

either that, or does anyone have a used set of drop arms for a dakota for sale, cuz I am too cheap to buy new ones for my beater

when i shortened the ones on my truck i stepped the front of the lower when i sectioned 1 1/4" out of it...... kinda made a dropped arm out of it... are you just trying to lower it? just chop a coil or 2 off the spring.......
