shifter as in shift knob?

or lever? if you mean lever you can do the whole cool rat rod thing and cut a whole in the roof with the knob out. i personally dont like that look. all you do is get some metal the same size as the current shifter arm and weld it on and grind everything flush

I'll be using a 23" Lokar shifter in my truck. Mounts to the top of the tranny and the lever is 23" long. Should come up about mid dash.

go to the flea market, buy a sick sword, something with cool detail on the handle and cut it down to fit.

I think I will be making one thats chain link tomorrow. Just as a small project.

The cleanest and easiest way to attach a new shift lever is to do it below the boot so the transition can't be seen. Then you can use any size tub you want really.

I made this crazy head out of clay then sand cast it to aluminum then drilled and taped it so i could screw it on like a stock knob... Im going to design some kind of extension to bring the whole thing up about 12" to make his head flush with the top of the dash... Will probably make it look like a spear so i can have the head "mounted" I might cast that part too, but will probably just forge it out of 3/4" steel rod so it will be stronger.
