I am shaving areas on my caprice and am done with the welding up. Should I use fiberglass resin to the metal first or can i just use a filler. Also where do you guys get the rage filler at thanks

rage you can get at oriely's. depends on how much u have to build up on handle. you would want to use a kitty hair/fiberglass then filler.

skim it w/ some resin jelly to fill in the small pinholes.

just sling the mud on the panel. we started useing rage gold and it works great ,it has some new additives for adhesion promotion. any where that sells paint should have rage.my personal opinion is kitty hair is way to much trouble than what its worth.the old bondos did not have very good qualitys that the new one s do. as far as fiberglass it works great on fiberglass.that s just my opinion

If all you have is 1/16, then just put filler over the bare metal and bodywork it. No need for fiberglass resin, jelly, kittyhair, etc.

im not really sure why i always hear people talk about using actual fiberglass resin as a filler material when doin body work on steel...we have never done it at out shop and ive never heard of anyone doing it..seems kinda dumb to me....anyway...over areas that are welded...you need to put duraglass/kitty hair..or some sort of WATERPROOF filler over your seams...you dont need alot of it..just enough to seal it up or fill in the low low spots if you have them...you dont want alot of it on there because you DONT want it to show thru when sanding a litewieght filler or glaze because that spot will almost never go away because it sands different....so yeah...forget about the fiberglass resin..get some duraglass and fill your weld seams and then litewieght/glaze over that...
