i have a kicker L7 and trunk that it is going in and ihave a seal box now but want to try a port box and i have a 800 watts autotek amp

so whats the question? are you asking whats better?

for the L7, ported is the way to go. In my experience, they sound very hollow in sealed boxes. Kinda like if you were drumming on an empty cabinet or something.

Ported on the other hand, they won't sound too bad, but don't expect to when SQ Comps, although it's possible to do. A basic tune just won't do that for you. The better part of ported boxes are if done right they will play a lot louder at a given frequency range.

run a ported box, but make sure your air space is what it requires, ive heard them in seal and they dont sound as good

Might be best to look and see what kicker recommends but I would think since it is going in the truck to do ported.

get twisted   +1y
find out what the factory recommends they have all your answers of box size port size and power handling they can also tell you what freq. will do best at for the box,port and power look at there web site
