are they really worth it? i dont care for side to sides, just maximum lift and a good ride. WHAT DO YOU GUYS THINK?
Holeyguy66   +1y
well there only good for the side to side realy but it does have greasable bearings so no squeak but if i am not mistaken you get the same lift as with pollies i might be wrong on that one dont hold me to it or was you talking bout the super lift four or five link they have

I get enough articulation with solid poly bushings for my own taste. They will let one side flex a few inches and rides just great.

thanks to here from somebody who half way knows what they are talking about. [just kidding]

Who me? I don't even know the half of it! Lol. I just have an asshole, right.

Anyways, its just my preference. I'm not into hitting sides really, and I've done trucks with both. The Mazda I did had Super Pivots at the axle. I noticed that it got a LOT of body roll, just pushing on it. No idea how it would be driving. But my truck, feels like its got an anti-sway bar.

I think the super pivots wouldnt wear out as fast because it gives the joint can move alot further than it ever needs to. If your bushins feel like they are keeping the truck from body rolling than think of how much pressure there is on that joint(I smell premature bushing wear). IDK I have super pivots on all the axel joints just for good measure, my truck wont even be plumber to throw sides. Its only like twenty bucks more to use a better joint.

use std poly bushings if you are building a normal setup, at 30-50 bucks a pop, i would only use them for a special application..... and to the guy above, i think you should call up energy suspension, daystar, and whoever else is injection molding bushings for OEM replacement and tell them they are wrong!!

Poly is the only way to go.

all the super poivots, and jonny joints are just gimics, yea, they get better sides....but the trade off is metal to metal contact...possibly with a small teflon liner.

Poly gets great side to side action (if you want it.....lame) and it rides great, and lasts a long time.

poly hands down.

Wow, All i said was that if you are putting extra pressure on the bushing you may want to use a better joint. What we do to our trucks is by no means to factory spec. To some people 20 or 30 bucks isnt that big a deal. So to the guy above me....eat a dick ass clown.

What makes you think that a super pivot joint is superior to a poly bushing? If it were, it would have made its way into OEM a long time ago...

Taylor and Cris are right, a poly bushing will net you 30 degrees of articulation on a properly set up solid axle. The ride quality and longevity of a poly bushing will far surpass any spherical bearing setu..hands down...
