anyone care to help? (monochromatic??)

I don't know if this would be considered monochromatic or not, but reguardless, I need your help. It is probably simple, but I will tell you what I have done so far and attach a picture at the bottom.

I need a picture (normal pic) changed into a 2 color, color scheme. Is there an easy way, around the whole lasso deal, to go about this? I have tried artistic>poster edges>variations and hue/sat, but no real luck. I have also done threshold, but don't want black and white...so whats up?
