i'm repairings some rust, covering my notch and putting in fenders. Do i weld up all the seams so its solid, or just spot weld and use a body filler? If just spot weld, how many per inch is optimal. Thanksmike

Just a matter of choice I guess. I prefer to weld everything up solid slowly. then do body work over it. If you want to just spot weld it and do body work over it that works too but you run the risk of moisture getting in betwen the metal. I would recommend just taking your time and welding it solid start with tacks ever inch or so and them work your way down putting tacks in between the current tacks, just be sure to not go to fast or as you probably know you will warp the metal

I think they spot welded some parts on the sheetmetal on my bed, because moisture got in there and now the welds have broken. I need to get that repaired before the paint gets thrown on. I'm not sure what needs to be done to have that repaired.

also when it comes to the body work seam sealer is a lot easier than bondo, just run a bead over the welds, and smooth it all down with your finger and some wax and grease remover. it'll also be a lot more flexible than bondo, and there's less of a chance of it crackin later
