Ok so after my truck gets warmed up and running...after a while it will start to sputter/chug or however describe running like shit while driving at low rpms(gettin out of first, shifting and accelerating through the beginging of gears). No matter what i do to the idle mixture screw it does the same thing around the same time. Does this sound like a primary jetting problem?

Another thing...the carb seems to make a wisling noise from inside the carb every now and then...what could that be? Any help/tips/tricks will be accepted and appreciated...thanks!

maybe the carb is restricting the air flow that could be whats causing the whistle also if the carbs nots opening up enough you could be dumping fuel and not getting the right mixture. but i dont have a webber thats just my best guess

Do you have a manual or electric choke? Make sure the choke isn't staying on, as it will cause you to run rich.
Are you sure the whistling is coming from the carb and not something on the intake manifold? Maybe some of the factory vacuum lines for emissions control are unhooked and causing a leak. I don't know why this would only happen once warmed up, but it's something to check.
The only other thing you might do is change to a smaller primary jet and richen up the idle mixture to compensate- provided the truck idles OK and only has the problem off-idle.

Good luck!

getting any backfires? engine warming up? Sounds like an intake leak to me. They say dont use RTV but I have put a thin wipe on the gaskets before; the paper gaskets dont seal really well.

Sometimes, guys tend to really crank down the carb mounting and it warps it, causeing a leak. Other times, you dont get the adaper plate screwed down tight enough and it leaks.

Any way you look at it though, an intake leak adds air to the fuel/air mix and leans it out.

ok thanks guys. i don' think it has any vaccum leaks but i could be wrong. i also found a website to help tune it so im gonna try it the way they said and if that doesn't work i'll try to rejet it.
