85 carbed z motor fires on one side only

im thinking of buying a extended cab 720 that is pretty solid,but has engine problems.it is only firing on one side(the exhaust side).is this a common problem?i was thinking dist cap or button???are the distributors electronic on the older models?and also the guy says he has already changed the coils.thanks for any help in advance.later

Well...if the owner of the truck has already changed both coils then I try the cap & button. I had an 82 model with the 8 plugs but I never had that problem. You can check out this site for more help...www.nissancustoms.com
