Im thinking this is probably a good question for Russ-D

I've got a 92 FI 2.2 from my truck, it needs a rebuild...

I want to go back to carb'd though because the FI motor seems to be a bit taller from what I can tell, and well it would be so much easier to get it all hooked up and running.

what can I and what can't I use from the FI motor? what will I have to replace? does a weber sit lower than the stock crap?

Man go sidedrafts... Looks kool and is below valve cover.

sidedrafts are cool, but no one makes a sidedraft manifold for the fe f2 motor.

you need to change the intake and the distributor, thats all if you are going to a weber (no wire harness changes) I assume you have a header. You need to change the high pressure in tank pump to a low pressure model, carter makes a replacement for 87-88 carbed B2200's so just ask for that at the part counter.

Thanks Russ. I love you.

Most likely be making the header.

I'll go get an intake from the wreckers, and buy a new distributer I guess.

Any recommendations on a rebuild kit and which weber and where to get it?

thanks!

Why build a header if you can buy them?

wayne is going to build a ram horn header for mazdas sometime next millenium.

oh and weber 32/36 or 34/34, stay away from the 38. You need a DGEV (Or DGV or DGAV) BUT you can use a DFEV (Or DFV or DFAV) if you fab some carb linkage, they are mirror opposites.

Best bang for the buck is the Holley 5200, brand new at the parts store for 100 bucks and takes the same weber adapter. Get one for a 2 liter pinto and it will even be tuned close. You will need to fab linkage, the 5200 is a Holley made copy of the DFEV
