contests on ssm .... official !!

How would you guys feel about ssm having actual contests... not just renderings but banners and general graphic work ... but mostly chop challenges ... with certain themes... like say the winner gets to pick a vehicle and a theme... say a s10... with a rat rod or futuristic theme and every1 would have 2 do that theme...



I've been talking to kris about it and if it gets the suport we can make it hapen

There might be prizes... ssm stufmaybe nick and robbie can toss some shirts or dvds... ill hit up oliver too... some insentive for people to do it

Not to mention the young cats who could learn a lot from competing and getting a feel for the industry...

The votng system will have polls1 vote per user and u can vote for yourself...

Ill be the mod for it and the winner will pick the next contest theme/vehicle

So how about it ?

As noted in the tundra challenge I started yesterday, that is pretty much how it is done in other PS and photography forums I frequent. Although, they don't give any prizes away. I guess it is more of a challenge to one's self to see how well you can do, and what others think about your idea. Free gear would be a bonus though for some.

Wish I could, but generally I don't have the time...I'm down for voting though.

well the pros shouldnt try to dominate it... but even if all you have time to do is vote and critique ... it will still help

im making a big push for this because i really want to see something new in here... new ideas.. fresh skills and who knows some1 on here might get good enough and be a future coworker

i wouldnt do the voting like that, just my opinion. id have a professional do the judging. say 3 of them. Nick, Me, Rj or Brian. Then it wont be able to turn into a popularity contest.

yea im down for this, its bout time we get some kind of chop challenges goin on

even that could turn out to be a popularity/unpopularity contest...some people's styles dont really hit most pros eyes in a good way either...but it would help to have set judges!

i think none of us could care less who wins or loses is what im gettin at.
