i'm getting ready to setup the shocks on my 97 hardbody. the front is pretty simple, but the rear is different because i'm running out of realstate to mount stuff. the question is can i mount the shocks forward of the axle ? does this compermize the ridae or lift in anyway ?

AS FAR AS I BEEN TOLD ; IT SHOULDN'T MATTER AS LONG AS THERE NOT BINDING AT ALL.ALSO MAKE SURE THERE GOING TO EXTEND AS FAR AS YOUR BAGS LIFT.HOPE THIS HELPS

It doesn't matter where the shock is mounted, as long as the shock controls the suspension. I know that sounds stupid, but shock placement depends on the desired amount of travel and the amount of dampening that is needed to control the vehicle. If you can keep the shock close to the rearend you can get away with a softer shock, but if you lay the shock down really far, the effectiveness of the shock is limited by the amount of angle that it is at. When I am compromised by realestate, I use a higher quality shock that is stiffer so that I still get decent control over the suspension.

going along with bio max yeah make sure when its at ride height the shock is more vertical than horizontal... when i first bought my truck the shocks were almost on their side and created a shitty ride height
