well I came across a 59 ford Step side so I am going to pick it up next weekend. So it's going to be a long project so any advice or tips would be needed to help this along

I have many. Expect the unexpected, double your budget, double your time frame, and make NO promises.

No, triple your budget, triple your time, and quintuple the beer or liquor, whichever you choose.

I bought a 72 ford, planned on bagging it, and driving it, it turned into a engine rebuild, baggin it, and roadster chop. Been 17 months and its just about to get started for the first time.

put a inline 6 in it to be differnt and they will run forever. junk the whole frame, they are a nightmare. keep every part you take beisdes the rubber stuff because they dont reproduce much for that truck. go to dennis-carpenter.com and order a catalog for your truck to get an idea on repop parts prices and what they make. i worked for them for almost 5 years. they make all there own parts for those trucks and they are about the only ones to make parts for a 57-60 truck.

I am glad to hear that someone else is working on a 59 Ford. I been working on mine for the last couple months. It was in the beginning stage when it was showed at Texas Heatwave this year. Most people think it is a ugly truck but I got it because it was different.

well I'm not sure as of now. I was thinking of both. Keep he body stock and just bag the piss out of it

please dont "traditionalize" it. there are certain cars that take to that well, and trucks just don't do it unless its like a model or some shit with a "bed" made for it.

the old fords belong on some nestalgic wheels and some clean paint. ont he floor of course.

Well I went and checked out the truck again. After a good 30 min's of looking at it i am changing my mind. The frame has a good bit of rust and it looks like it is trying to bow, just about every body panel would need some type of metal work done to it. So I think I am going to start my search again for another truck
