Has anyone completely bypassed OnStar in the new trucks yet? By completely, I mean so you can't be tracked or anything.

doesn't that defeat the purpose?

Exactly. Just some "street corner pharmacists"pay good money to have them disabled. It is the whole Big Brother is watching thing.

what? is this a conspiracy theory? get real. why would anyone care if "big brother" can track your ride? is there a reason they should be watching you? if your ride is stolen, YOU can call onstar, get the location, and give a good old fashion "beat down". Why get rid of it. You can install an entire system around it. Move the head unit into the center console (wiring and all) with one stock speaker. Then install your entire new system in the stock location, you can have the best of both worlds. And you do not have to mess with the stock amplified system.

As far as I know if you replace the radio without using onstar/bose integration harnesses then the onstar unit loses pwr and is disabled. This would be a benefit for your "freelance pharmacutical technition" because he can know put a slammin ass system in that "surely" wont attract attention...

If you don't completely disable the onstar they can still track it,just not as accuratly. I think disabling it stupid also, but, if that what the guy with the wants, who am I to argue.

If you do figure it out..send me the instructions in PM. I have had SEVERAL...actually ALOT of guys asking if I could do it.
Marl (yolo)..noone would steal these guys' trucks, ONSTAR is completely useless to them.
