Is there any particular reason that people normally use a pre-tacoma rear end rather then a tacoma rear end?

Why sure they are about 3" narrower than the tacoma's. And since you are trying to get more clearance for wheel selection along with the 5lug conversion it all works out better.BTW how did you do the front> I hope you didn't use that seal to put the toyota hub on it that doesn't work right and will cause damage over time if you drive it daily. If you need it done right let me know and I will machine your spindles to accept the toyota hub so that the bearings and seals seat correctly. I charge $110 shipped to do the work. I have seen broke spindles due to that seal. So just thought I would add that....John Yoakum

Thanks a lot.. I thought that is what the reason was but was not positive.

And with the fronts. I am not completly sure what was done.. I had a shop do it years ago and its held up fine.. Thanks for the info and the offer tho..
