I have a sheetmetal bed project that im doing and its welded solid. grinded it down. I have been told im suposed to pour fiberglass then bondo the rest. Its solid and im not sure if it needs fiberglass?

pour fibreglass?

maybe they meant to use bondo glass? like when you need to build up an area more that 1/4", but if your be is smooth enough you should be fine with just bondo i think.

if you have it nice and solid, id just seal it with epoxy primer then start your bodywork. you are gonna want to seal the underside with something too, so your work doesnt rot from the backside. you could rhino line it, undercoat, prime and paint, its up to you.

fiberglass doesnt stick to metal. so whoever told you that....punch them in the taint.

fiberglass/metal bed....eh
Yes first you need to go into the freezer and pull out a pop sickle and stab them in the ass with it first and ask them how long it takes before just the stick is left. Now you should be fine with a very light coat of body filler.

first off, is it warped at all? any high and low spots that you can obviously see? or was the sheet formed at all?

i say use seam sealer on the welded parts instead of bondo, i just discovered it's wonders when i did a sliding rag in my beetle and it is some bad ass stuff
