I'm looking at purchasing an older s10 and I have found (what seems) to be a very good deal down the road. Though the owner of this truck says his mechanic put a new clutch slave cylinder on and bled the hydraulic line and it worked for three or so days and went back to no pressure. Now heres the weired thing, I started the truck with the clutch pressed in and in first. The truck started and clutch was disengaged. I then let out of the clutch and has engagement fairly low to the floor... Is this infact the slave cylinder or am I looking at something else? I plan to remove the 2.8 to clean the engine bay up and maybe shave the firewall. I'm wanting to keep the 2.8 and not put a 350 in due to my long commute to school. I just want to shave bag and drag the biatch...

The only part that goes bad on either the master or slave is the outer seal against the shaft. So simply take a look under the dash for the master and remove the slave from the tranny to see if either shaft is wet and youll be able to see which one is bad.
