Ok, i just got an 87 suburban with a carbed 350 and a dash from a 97. I've been told that the fuel and speedo are really the only things that work, well the fuel runs out when the gauge reads 3/4 full, and the speedo constantly sweeps from 0 to 100. So i'm wanting to fab a gauge face that fits in the stock location with auto meter gauges or something. Here's my question, i really like the look of the digital gauges, i think it'd be kick ass to have these in my gauge cluster:

So the question is, can i do this with a carbed motor? What all do i need to get? I think i can get most all the gauges with the senders included, but how does the digital come in? I know the burban has a mechanical speedo cable (instead of the wire), will this work? Or do i need to forget it and just get all mechanical auto meter gauges? Anyone who has any experience with this, help will be greatly appreciated.

cool, thanks. what exactly does a sender do, for example, on the speedo, i know i have a cable and for the digital speedo, i know i need a wire, does the cable plug into the sender which converts the signal to a wire transmitted signal?

speedo you need a mechanical to electrical sender on my overdrive i took a newer model 700r4 and put it in a 78 chevy and im using a b&m lock out which takes the mechanical speedo and goes tho an electrical sender that engages the over drive at a set speed, but you can get that sender and use the stock 95 up dash still
