the 7.5 is good for cruising, its not strong enough for drag racing, and that was the only reason Ford took them out of the 5.0 Mustangs around 1990.

Its only certain year rangers with a 8.8 rearend. I'm not sure what exactly years but there all in the 80's. Something like ford mass produced the rearend for some reason and put them in the 4 banger fords. So i've heard anyways.

Or if you want to get fancy you can get an independant rear out of late ninety thunderbirds.

I used an 89 lincoln lsc mark 7 8.8 posi rear endsame boltpattern as the ranger and it comes with disc.

Oh! i'm also running a 89 302 efi out of a mustang with aod.

i am using a 8.8 out of a 92 lincoln mark 7. narrowed it 4 inches on both sides just to put on wider wheels and because it uses disk brakes

I would mostly be concerned about gear ratio and having LSD.

try a b2600 4x4 rear they are 4.44 and 30spline
