I went to get my ride estimated on a paint job and fixing the bodywork and the lady said it would be 2500.00 with the bodywork done and sprayed. This is with everything sealed, primed, painted and wetsanded and cleared. They'll be using Dupont paints and she seemed like an honest person. My car is my daily so I'm not going to be looking for something like a 15,000 paint job, just something that looks better then OEM. What do yall think? Price to little, about right, or what? Thanks.~Jon~

well it just all depends on what kind of shape your ride is in to determine if the price is good or not. if you ride is in good shape with a few dents here and there then that is a average starting price, well atleast it is here in La. just hold them to what ever they are suspose to do for you and dont pay them untill the car is done like you want.

seems cheap to fair to me for a complete... any cheaper and you're probably not dealing with a reputable shop.

but I wouldn't expect much more than oem looking finish for that price.

get references and look at other work they've done before commiting and you should be fine.

At my shop our completes start at $5000. snd that is everything jambs, engine bay....etc! So it also depends on like what Trey said too....If its a simple scuff and shoot than that might be around what I would personally charge but if its all out fixing everything and priming, blocking, spraying and flat sanding and buffing than no, I wouldnt think that $2500 would do that good of a job!

The body of the car is in good shape except for where the bodywork was done before. The trunk, shaved doors, and places where the emblems where are pretty much set, just really sand and touch up. The main stuff is where the side scoops used to be behind the doors. That stuff needs to be taken back to the metal basically and redone. Besides a few little dents and the front tip of the hood thats about it. She said she'll do the door jams but I have to finish up there with the door kit, gonna weld the bolts to the door and then grind them smooth. I was gonna see if I can get them to do the trunk jams too since the lights and everything would be off. So with those things that need to be done am I still looking at a good price out or no?

well personaly i think it is alittle under priced since they are having to redo someone else's body work. but like jmn444 said get references and look at other work they've done before commiting and you should be fine. but remember you will prob. get what you pay for. the materials alone will cost them around 700-1000 bucks for dupont. what kind of dupont are they gonna be using? "chroma base" "chroma premiere" i have been around dupont for about 5 years now..

Dupont also has a cheap line called Nason. So you should probably figure out what kind of paint they will be using. My guess is for that cheap it will be Nason. But don't get me wrong Nason is good paint but, I wouldn't say "show quality".
