Congrats Russ. I completed the same CPAT, and it can be a
bi@tch if you're not ready. seems like the stair climber is the event that gets most people. 60 steps a minute sounds like cake to most people, but the slowness of the pace might actually be harder than a quicker pace would be.
I'll have 5 years on the job this December, and I can't say enough good things about it. as far as I'm concerned, best job/career EVER. may not pay much, but the perks make it so great. ya, we work the same 24 on, 48 off. I have so much time off work it gets sickening sometimes. add on vacation days, personal days, and sick days and I work maybe 100 shifts a year. so I'm off work more than 2/3 the time.
work a second job on your days off if you need the money, or if you just need something to do. or don't. that's what's so great, you have all the flexibility in the world.
