Does a 1991 b2600 2wd have a automatic check engine light to come on at 220,000 miles? Or was it just a huge coincidence that it came on at the same time i rolled over to 220k?If its automatic, what is the schedule maintenance for this mileage? and how i can turn the light off?

It is automatic but I'm not sure how to turn it off mine came on at 80000 so I just unhooked the bulb for it. I know on Mitsubishis there is a little switch in the dash behind one of the caps right by the cluster that you flip but I couldn't find one on my mazda so good luck.

its an egr service reminder, behind the drivers speaker area there are two plugs, one loose and one plugged in. switch them.

Thanks Russ. Should i switch them and keep them switched? Or just switch them, start the truck and switch them back? Thanks again..Dee

just keep them switched, the light will go out and the next time it comes on switch them back.

Its a counting circuit, wired one way it counts up to 80k, wired the other it counts down.

Ok, i just did it and it worked great. =)

Another thing, while i was under there i noticed that there was another plug un-pluged. And they had a wire in the shape of a U by passing some switch? Can you tell me why they would do that, and if i should undo it? The switch they had bypassed was the one that when you press the clutch in, it triggers. (its like a push button switch on a black box)

Thanks again..
Dee

thats the nuetral start safety switch, someone has bypassed it so the engine will start without pushing the clutch in.
