I want to do a behind/under axle set up on my sonoma with sleeve bags. I'd like to be able to haul a trailer with it also. i dont think the Firestone F9000s would up to the task of haulin a 18' boat. what other sleeve bag would work, and where could i find them?

why a sleeve bag? why not still use a regular air spring? It'll be able to support towing better that way. Just my opinion.

There is a Firestone part developed with Ford for the rear of the Expeditions. Firestone has sence made it into a generic part, I have used it on many different vehicles and have never been dissapointed. I'm not sure the exact part number, but just about any supplier that carries them knows them by 140-95 Tapered bags. If you can't find them, give Randy Davidson a call at AirFlex (951)927-0039.

BTW- Randy is arguably the first guy to have bagged a truck. His first truck was in 1982 and he had a bolt in kit shortly after...

what's the size difference in the 140-95 compared to a f9000?

The 9000 series part has 110mm(4.3") upper diameter and a 70mm(2.75") lower piston. The 140-95 have a 140mm(5.5") upper and a 95mm(3.74") lower. Also the 140-95 still comes with billet upper and lower mounts, where the 9000 parts are all plastic.

howard,

i want to runt he tapered bag b/c im doing a bag over axle setup. the regular double convoluted bag is designed for a 2:1 ratio application where a sleeve bag is designed for a 1:1 ratio. the sleeve will give a better ride and better lift with an over axle setup.

What are some of the downsides to a sleeve bag? I am considering using them on my over axle setup and and trying to determine what would be best.
