Ive read on here somewhere about how to mask off bodywork areas so not to leave a hard line with primer. I dont quite understand how to do this so I was wondering if someone could explain or post a pic. It was something about folding the masking tape back or something. Any help would be great thanks!

You should have tape running down one edge of your paper, face the paper towards what you are primeing and press the tape down, then take the paper and flip it back over the edge of the paper that has the tape on it. this should create a roll instead of a hardline. But remember to leave yourself some room and not prime up to each edge or it will still leave abit of aline.

or just prime whole panels...and mask adjacent panels off on a natural bodyseam. But for small areas GOTTKTS is spot on.

Oh ok, I get it. I was thinking it was something with just tape. I thought youd have to use some pretty damn wide tape to make it work. Thanks alot guys.

And I would just prime the whole panel on my truck but ths guy just wants as little primer as possible. He actually wants just hardlined squares but since Ill be the one painting this thing in the future I told him no dice on that idea.

Thanks again.

color match sealer the whole panel once its all in primer looks much nicer plus u never have to deal with edges.

backtape the areas around the bondo'd areas at least 6 inches away. Don't spray the primer all the way to the tape, or you'll get a hard line.
