expedition problems

My 97 Expedition has dual front and rear A/C's and heaters. To my knowledge both cooling systems run off of one compressor, but the rear A/C works great and the front blows HOT air. When I need to use the heater in the front, it blows COLD air! What the hell is the problem here?? Any help would be appreciated

vacuum leak at the controls more then likly.
