I just gutted my interior and all that is left is the headliner and now my brake lights will not turn off. I noticed it after I took out the back panel on the cab. So I drove the truck around the block and parked it and the lights are still on? What would be causing them to stay on? It's a 2000 Dodge Ram single cab. I pulled the fuse and they shut off but once I put it back in they stayed on. The brakes are not engaged so I know that is not the problem? The 3rd brake light and the taillights are LED so I don't know if that would be the problem? Any ideas? Thanks!

brake light switch maybe? It might have stuck on you. Either that or a hot wire thats hot all the time is touching the brake wiring somewhere causing them to stay on all the time. Brake light switch seems more feasible tho. It connects to the brake pedal arm most vehicles anyways.

I've looked at all the interior wires and they all seem fine. If one was cut it shouldn't make them stay on. I don't see anything that would be grounded to keep them on. I've pumped the brakes and they work like normal. I've been working behind the dash re-routing a few things but I still can't find the problem. No idea what would be causing this...

Thanks for the reply!
