I have been looking into putting the 02 or newer grille, lights and front bumper but using the OBS hood and fenders on the Yukon i just got since it needs a front end anyway. I have seen the flamed out Suburban(that is now primer blue) that has it done in person and I like. I have also seen it on a lime green tahoe and a black crew cab dually and from the looks of it they grafted in the tips of the newer fender to the OBS fenders and then everything else fit to it. I am sure there is some bracketing for the grille and bumper but that is basic fab work. Does anyone know the specifics of what this conversion takes??? Im jsut trying not to go the easy route and bolting up the Caddy clip..lol

i own the black dually u speak of. all that was done was the tips of the fenders changed and i kept stock hood. then modified the core support. do a little wirein. and your done. hope this helps.

got any pics of it?

kelly, in the new street trucks there's an 88-98 dually with an 03+ clip how you're wanting to do it

Thanks for responding Ben. That was the conclusion I had come to. Do you happen to have any pics of the modifications to the core support in order for the grille to bolt up?

Thanks Kyle...Ill check it out tomorrow when I get a chance....you how hard it is for me to break away from work..lol

i dont have any pics. the grill is simply bolted on. i will try to get some pics this weekend though. then just cut the core support out for the lights to fit.

I've been in the process of mine for the last year.. and it's alot harder than it sounds.....i'm not hateing at all man. but don't be fooled by a "simple conversion".

However i'm doing it the original (cool way IMO) which acctually involves graphting fenders, hoodhindges, and so on. and it's a shit load of work. I'm sure ben knows what he's talking about, and did the work. I'm just saying that it's alot of work, and i'm a pretty diecent fabber. I could eplain all my probs, but i doubt you wanna hear it anyways.

good luck and im me want a teazzer pic.

Dave I agree that the complete conversion looks much better, however I dont plan on keeping this Yukon very long so I am not going to go through that much labor for something I am not going to keep. I just like doing things that arent exactly bolt on that show a little more effort than bolting on the stock Caddy clip like everyone does on this body style. And id it is something that has been done a couple of times it never hurts to do a little homework before jumping into the project.
