Anyone know how to bypass the safety feature on an in dash dvd player? The screen turns off anytime the lights are on.

i've installed a few, usually just take the wire that is supposed to go to the emergency brake and tie it into the ground wire or give it +12v, it depends on the unit, but it should say what it needs in the wiring diagram

Never heard of one that goes into safety when the lights are on. On my alpine I ran the wire for the foot brake to a push button and the one for the e-brake to a toggle switch. To make it work I have to hold the button, flip the toggle 3 times and let go of the button. Kinda ghetto but thats the only way I could figure out how to replicate the sequence.

yeah, like said above, sometimes you can just tie the emergency brake lead from the unit to a ground through a toggle switch, but it does depend on the brand/make/ model and year of unit.
The newer pioneer units have a motion sensitve gyro built into it so another bypas module must be bought on the black market...(EBAY). BTW Pioneer dvd owners should check out www.AVIC411.com to get avic units to do cool shit

if you turn on the lights and the screen goes off, then you have one of the two parking light wires behind the radio hooked up as a ground. disconnect that wire because it will blow your fuse and either find the real ground or go straight to bare metal
