I have been out of the stereo installation game for about 10 years and I have an OLD SKOOL "Lansar 50 OPTI DRIVE"

like the one here:
http://ampguts.realmofexcursion.com/Lanzar_OPTI_50/

But have no idea what the specs are on this amp...

The link above states the following:
"Reports say that can handle low impedances and do MUCH more power"

How low impedance?

i know Russ D Quoted this:

old school Opti 50 bang out 141db on 4 tens. thats a FIFTY WATT RMS AMP. Who need s 6 gajillion watts when 50 RMS makes you lose your breath.

I have a 98 accord and wanted to throw a few 10's in the back... but I'm just getting back in the Game, so I could use some help...

check your im's, I am pretty sure I replied to this already..

get 4 tens or 2 dvc tens, and put 2 ohms on each channel, mono on, bass boost up and lpf on. Thats how I had mine set, and it pounded ass like an inmate.

and it will do 2ohm mono, which is 1 ohm stereo, but make sure it stays cool and has oodles of power or you will burn up an old school cool.

This may work for you, but it's not a guarunteed setup for anyone, in any car. It's all in the install. I'm not doubting you, or sayin your wrong. Just saying that it's not guarunteed, as your probably already know. Just for the thread starters sake.

its a 15 year old amp. the caps have likely swollen anyway, which is why I reccomended 2 ohm stereo instead of 2 ohm mono.

and Jeremy, that listing is for an opti 50C, which is not the amp he has (if you follow the link he posted). He has an Opti 50 (no c) its about 16 inches shorter. And only 1 ohm stable. I had a 50C years ago, never had 8 twelves or fifteens to hook up to it so on down the road it went. But the system I described in that oooollllld post was 4 kicker (stiched cone!) 10's and a Lazar Opti 50. I replaced a Phoenix Gold 2240 with that amp and WOW. (the 2240 though was another 1/4 ohm stable "cheater" amp, so I didnt have enough subs)

"It pounded ass like an inmate" I laugh every time I think about it... that is some funny $hit....

I'm not looking to Blister my eardrums with D.J Magic Mike...

I listen to all types of music... I want it to be clean...

This amp has been sitting for about 8 or 9 years... shouldn't be a problem right?

For clean bass is DVC 10's my best route?what ohm speakers?Ported or not?if i run 2 DVC 10's and run it 2 ohm stereo, around how many watts will it push?

Just do two 10" dvc( 4 ohm per coil wired in parallel for 2 ohm ). If you are not wanting to be super loud, go with less cone area. This will also take less space since you do not have to enclose 4 subwoofers.

Those amplifiers were produced by ZED audio for Lanzar( I am pretty sure ). You could email someone at Zed audio for more realistic power ratings. Check out: www.zedaudio.com
